CASPER, WYOMING (April 7, 2021) – The COVID Vaccine Center (CVC) inside the former Macy’s location is officially open to the public, and anyone 16 and over is eligible to make an appointment for the vaccine they’d prefer.
The Casper-Natrona County Health Department (CNCHD) is shifting all COVID-19 vaccinations to the CVC location, where a combination of staff and volunteers can administer 900-1,500 doses per day.
“This is such an exciting step in our fight against COVID-19,” CNCHD Public InformationOfficer Hailey Bloom said. “This new location is going to make vaccinations much more accessible to everyone in the community. We were averaging around 300 vaccines per day at our health department location, but we can easily triple that at the CVC,” she said.
Additionally, this new space gives the community the option to select which vaccine each individual would like to take, including the single-dose Johnson & Johnson. As of right now, only Pfizer is approved for ages 16 and over, while Moderna and J&J are both approved for ages 18 and over.
