Health Department cancels today’s Mike Sedar Firehouse flu vaccine clinic due to weather

CASPER, WYOMING (October 13, 2021) – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department is canceling today’s flu vaccine clinic at the Mike Sedar Firehouse due to heavy snow and unsafe driving conditions.

“Our mission is to keep the community safe, so with that in mind, we decided to cancel today’s vaccine clinic,” CNCHD Public Information Officer Hailey Bloom said. She regrets any inconvenience this may cause and encourages the public to travel carefully through the inclement weather that is impacting much of the state.

The next flu vaccine clinic will be Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Mike Sedar Firehouse. In anticipation of increased demand due to today’s cancelations, flu vaccines both high dose and regular will be offered during Friday’s COVID-19 third dose vaccination drive up at the Ford Wyoming Center. “We want to make sure that we get flu shots to those that want them as conveniently as possible,” Bloom said.

The Oct. 23 flu vaccine is hosted by the Casper-Natrona County Health Department in partnership with Casper College. To receive your vaccine, drive to the fire station across from Mike Sedar Park with your ID and insurance card, if you have one. Regular doses (for those 6 months and up) are $25 and high doses (for those 65 and older) are $75.
