Wyoming Medicaid’s Pregnant Women programs provide comprehensive health coverage for eligible women through the first 12 months postpartum. To remain eligible, women with incomes below the Family Care income guidelines must work with Child Support Enforcement once their baby is born.
Presumptive Eligibility
Presumptive Eligibility (PE) for pregnant women is a Medicaid option designed to improve access to temporary Medicaid while their eligibility for full Medicaid benefits is being determined. Eligible pregnant women are limited to outpatient prenatal services through a Medicaid provider for up to 60 days after completing an application for Medicaid.
This program is FREE for all pregnant women in Wyoming. We offer Presumptive Eligibility screening for Medicaid, provide smoking cessation referral information and support, as well as numerous community resources. We also are happy to discuss all of the free programs provided by the Maternal Child Health Department such as Wyoming Hand in Hand, Lactation Support, and Children’s Special Health.
