Anyone 65 and older now eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations

CASPER, WYOMING (February 18, 2021) – Any Natrona County resident 65 or older is now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, per new Casper Natrona County Health Department (CNCHD) policies.

In the most recent eligibility expansion, the CNCHD has opened vaccinations to anyone 65 and over; prior to today, residents needed to be at least.

“By opening vaccinations to residents 65 and over, we’re continuing to protect the most vulnerable members of our population,” CNCHD Public Information Officer Hailey Bloom said. “This is just another way we’re going to continue recent trends of declining infection rates and hospitalizations,” she said.

Anyone 65 and over, K-12 school staff, childcare providers, healthcare workers and first responders are all currently eligible for vaccinations. Bloom anticipates that individuals 16-64 with pre-existing medical conditions will become eligible next.

“Casper residents have been outstanding in their efforts to get vaccinated. We’ve had great results, overwhelming interest and our community is becoming safer and healthier,” Bloom said.

If you are 65 and over or part of any other group eligible to receive a vaccine, schedule yours today with the Casper Natrona County Health Department at 307.577.9892.
