CASPER, WYOMING (March 29, 2021) – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department (CNCHD) is opening Phase 2 of its vaccination efforts, so now anyone over the age of 16 in Natrona County is now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
Since administering Casper’s first vaccine Dec. 16, the CNCHD has gradually expanded eligibility requirements to include more occupations, age group and health conditions, according to Wyoming Department of Health guidelines. Today marks the first time that anyone who wants a vaccine can sign up for an appointment.
“This is a moment we’ve been waiting for since March of 2020,” CNCHD Public Information Officer Hailey Bloom said. “This is how we’re going to get our town back. Our community’s vaccination efforts are well ahead of schedule, and it’s all thanks to our incredible team, healthcare partners and the people of Natrona County,” she said.
While anyone in Natrona County is eligible, there are some important health guidelines. To receive a vaccination, you cannot be ill, and you cannot have received any other vaccinations within two weeks of your vaccination. You must be at least 16 years of age to receive a Pfizer vaccine, and at least 18 to receive either Moderna or Johnson and Johnson.
