Health Department adds booster shot vaccine clinics in November

CASPER, WYOMING (October 27, 2021) – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department (CNCHD) is hosting COVID-19 booster vaccine clinics for eligible individuals Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Ford Wyoming Center (formerly Casper Events Center), then Nov. 4, 9, 16 and 18 at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds.

Per FDA and CDC guidelines, the CNCHD is administering third doses of the Pfizer and Moderna to eligible individuals, which includes anyone who received their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna shot at least six months ago ago and meet one of the following criteria:

1) 65 years and older
2) Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
3) Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
4) Age 18+ who work in high-risk settings (workers in healthcare, emergency support, education, food, delivery, public transit, manufacturing, corrections, grocery stores)
5) Age 18+ who live in high-risk settings (dorms, homeless shelters, correctional facilities) Anyone who received a Johnson & Johnson Individuals at least two months prior is eligible to receive boosters. Individuals can choose to “mix and match” brands, so they may select any vaccine for their booster shot, regardless of initial type.

“Vaccines are the best way to protect our community from COVID-19, and booster shots are another layer of defense for our most vulnerable populations,” CNCHD Public Information Officer Hailey Bloom said. Booster shots will be available at the following drive-through clinics:

Thursday, Nov. 4 – Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Parking Lot – 1:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 9 – Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Parking Lot – 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 16 – Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Parking Lot – 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 18 Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Parking Lot – 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Booster shots will be administered drive-through vaccination clinics with staff administering vaccines to individuals in their cars. Public restrooms will be available. Please bring ID, vaccine card and insurance information, if available. Boosters are free to individuals and insurance is not required. Booster vaccines are not currently available at the CNCHD clinic.

Flu vaccines will also be available at all COVID vaccine drives. It is safe to take both vaccines simultaneously. COVID tests as well as first and second doses of all COVID vaccines are available for free Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30 at the Casper-Natrona County Health Department, located at 475 S. Spruce Street.
