CASPER, WYOMING (October 1, 2021) – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department (CNCHD) is issuing third doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine to eligible individuals at the Ford Wyoming Center (formerly Casper Events Center) Friday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 30 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Per FDA and CDC guidelines, the CNCHD is administering third doses of the Pfizer vaccine to all categories of eligible individuals Oct. 15 and Oct .30. Anyone who received their second dose of the Pfizer shot at least six months ago and are:

1) 65 years and older
2) Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
3) Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
4) Age 18+ who work in high-risk settings (workers in healthcare, emergency support, education, food, delivery, public transit, manufacturing, corrections, grocery stores)
5) Age 18+ who live in high-risk settings (dorms, homeless shelters, correctional facilities)

Please note that third doses are currently only available to individuals who received their first two doses of Pfizer; Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are currently not eligible.

Flu vaccines will also be available during third dose drives, giving individuals the opportunity to protect themselves from seasonal influenza and COVID-19 at one convenient time.

“Our first third dose drive was a huge success,” CNCHD Public Information Officer Hailey Bloom said. On Sept. 30, Bloom and her colleagues issued 600 third doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 250 flu vaccines. “It was a long day, but the number one mission of our staff is keeping Casper healthy, so third doses and flu vaccines are both critical to that mission,” she said.

CNCHD will issuing additional third doses Oct. 15 and 30 during drive-through vaccination clinics with staff administering vaccines to individuals in their cars. To receive a third dose, enter through Gate 1 of the Ford Wyoming Center parking lot. Public restrooms will be available. Please bring ID, vaccine card and insurance information, if available. Third doses are free to individuals and insurance is not required.

Third doses are not currently available at the CNCHD clinic.

“We know there’s been a lot of public confusion around third doses, but the FDA and CDC have scrupulously examined data, and as everyone knows all too well, COVID changes frequently,” Bloom said. “We’re rolling out third doses carefully, and vaccines remain our strongest protection against COVID, especially as it continues to surge across Wyoming,” Bloom said.

COVID tests as well as first and second doses of all COVID vaccines are available for free Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30 at the Casper-Natrona County Health Department, located at 475 S. Spruce Street.
